The award winning board game Mysterium is making the jump to the digital realm in December with its release on PC, Android and iOS. Mysterium sees players trying to solve the murder through clues given by an amnesic ghosts. This faithful adaption of the much loved game is being developed by Playsoft and overseen by Asmodee Digital.
The original game saw a group of psychics being give pictorial clues from the ghost. These clues will then point to the murder, the weapon and the location. Players much try to understand what the exactly the ghost is trying to tell them through the picture on the card. The twist is that these images are highly ambiguous and players can quickly go down the wrong line of thinking.
This digital version gives players everything they’d expect from the original game, but also lets them play online with people around the world. It allows up to 7 players to attempt to solve the murder, but Mysterium also offers a unique story mode. This story mode goes into more detail on the murder of the ghost through several hours of single player games.
At launch Mysterium will include the backstory of one of the psychics with the rest to be added at a later date. The Hidden Signs expansion will also be available as an in-app purchase as well. This expansion will be available upon release and offers players new enigmas to solve alone or with friends.
Mysterium is set to be released in early December for PC, Android and iOS. I’m looking forward to playing this amazing game on my tablet and I’m sure we are going to continue to see more brilliant board games with digital releases.
